# A fast website: diagnosis and fixes, measured with PageSpeed

The site is slow, or PageSpeed says so. Diagnosis and fixes, measured before and after, on the same site.

## Who it is for

**Fixed price.**For anyone with a shop or a site that loads slowly, loses points on PageSpeed or sees Google flag the Core Web Vitals in Search Console. PrestaShop, WordPress or a static site on a Linux server.

It starts from measurement, not opinion: three PageSpeed runs per page, spaced out, and the median. The pages of this site score 100 on every item, measured the same way.

## What it covers

- baseline measurement on a sample of pages, mobile and desktop, median of three runs
- diagnosis: server and cache, images, fonts, scripts and stylesheets, heavy modules and plugins
- fixes on the server and on the site, one at a time, each measured afterwards
- cache rules at the edge, if the site is behind Cloudflare

A score of 100 is not promised: it depends on the theme, the modules and the third party services the site loads. What is promised is the measurement.

## What you get

A faster site, with the before and after measurement on the same pages and the list of what was changed. Whatever cannot be touched without breaking something is written down, with the reason.

## Questions

Does speed matter to Google? Yes. The Core Web Vitals are among the signals Google uses to rank results, and it shows them in Search Console. They matter more to anyone selling, because a slow page loses the person who was buying. Is a caching plugin enough? It is often the first thing tried, and often not enough: a cache hides a slow server without curing it, and on the pages with the basket it cannot be used. Does the site stay online during the work? Yes. Fixes are tried one at a time and measured; if one makes something worse it is rolled back right away.

## From the email to the invoice

Times count in working days. If your mail program does not open, write to the address at the bottom of the page with the same subject line.

- **Right away**pick the engagement and send the pre filled email, with the answers to the questions
- **1 working day**you get an acknowledgement with the missing questions, or the quote with price, deliverables and timing. The quote is valid for fifteen days
- **On your yes**the proforma invoice arrives. Fixed price work is paid half up front and half on completion, the cleanup starts on a deposit, the monthly block is paid before the month
- **On payment**work starts. Access is exchanged only now, on a dedicated account and over an agreed channel, never in the order email
- **When the work ends**report, electronic invoice for the balance, access revoked

## What stays out

- redoing the theme or the site, which is a different job
- third party services the site loads by your choice (chat, pixels, video), which can only be measured
- Windows servers: the work is on Linux
